In Kabbalat Shabbat services, we warmly welcome Shabbat by creating sacred space. We slow down, we sing, we pray, we go inward, we connect, we build community, we center in love, and we hold a strong vision for a liberated and just world.
Using Hebrew and English prayers, traditional and contemporary songs, we call upon our ancient rituals to support us in our changing world.
All feelings welcome. All levels welcome. No prior experience necessary. Language and prayer choice are intentionally egalitarian. Environment is inclusive.
You might leave feeling like you’ve been at a concert, soaked in a hot spring, or received a warm hug.
Ideas for things you might want to bring: nothing, a prayer shawl, Shabbat candles, the song sheet. If you play an instrument, feel welcome to bring it -- guitar chords provided!
