Ever wonder if Jewish Anxiety is a Thing?

Or, if it’s possible to calm the heck down while being Jewish? If yes, we invite you to join Kavana and Jewish Family Service as we welcome Rabbi Dr. Caryn Aviv of Judaism Your Way (Denver, Colorado) for a thorough exploration of the topic and learn practices that will enable us to live with less stress and anxiety.

We will begin on Friday, November 10, at 7 pm with a Kabbalat Shabbat service at Temple De Hirsch Sinai, followed by an engaging conversation on anxiety, Jewish anxiety, and an introduction to the neuroscience of anxiety.  This program will be open to the entire community and is free. No registration is required.

On Saturday and Sunday, November 11-12, we will dive deeply into the neuroscience of anxiety, study Jewish texts, and practice mindfulness techniques, to learn how to meet difficult moments with new and better habits.

Our goal is to cultivate awareness, curiosity, compassion, and courage that will help us to improve our overall wellbeing.  Through conversations and practices we will explore self-compassion, boundary setting, Jewish values,  Jewish history, as we let go of excessive fear, worry, self-loathing, internalized stereotypes, perfectionism, and judgement.

Please use this event registration page to register for the Saturday and Sunday session. Please only register if you are able to join us on both Saturday and Sunday, and note that there are 36 slots availableThe schedule is as follows:

- Saturday: 10am-12:30pm and 4pm-6pm.

- Sunday: 9:30am - 11:30am.

There are three fee tiers for this program. Please pay according to your means.

We will provide coffee, tea, and snacks throughout the workshop.
