Our next book club meeting is to discuss "Paris in the Present Tense" by Mark Helprin. It is scheduled for Sunday, June 24 at 10am at a home on Mercer Island.
It is a novel about a Parisian cellist in his seventies who as a "widower, veteran of the war in Algeria, and child of the Holocaust must find a balance between his strong obligations to the past and the attractions and beauties of life and love in the present."
