Join Kavana for a text study of Caste: The Origins of Our Discontent by Isabel Wilkerson. Caste is a powerful account of how hierarchy reproduces itself, and links the caste systems of Nazi Germany, India, and the US. By learning about America’s caste system, our understanding of what Black and Brown people face here is deepened.

The text will be broken down into sections and discussed. The first meeting (11/21) will cover parts 1-3 (pages 1-166) and the second meeting (12/5) will cover parts 4-7 (pages 167-388).
